British air passengers struggled to reach airport terminals yesterday as tough vehicle restrictions came into effect, causing major traffic congestion around a number of airports. Passengers are advised that, even though check-in times have largely remained unaltered, passengers will need to build in extra time necessary to get from the airport perimeter to the terminal. A number of press reports today claim that at least one doctor - and possibly two is among five people arrested as part of the police investigation into the terror attack at Glasgow Airport and two failed car bombs in central London. Gordon Brown linked the attacks to 'people who are associated with al-Qaeda' in a statement yesterday.

In addition to the two men arrested at Glasgow Airport on Saturday, the other arrests included a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman seized on the M6 in Cheshire on Saturday, and a 26-year-old man in Liverpool. All three have been taken to Paddington Green police station in London for questioning. Click here for full story
