THE STORY SO FAR

MF Airport Parking has been established since 2006 but the story did not begin there. It all began in 2002 with the launch of MF Valeting.

MF VALETING

MF Valeting was a small mobile valeting business that offered top class valets at drive through prices.  Mark had the idea of offering this service whilst sitting in his car at a drive through car wash.

This coupled with how much the company he was currently working for was being charged for a  mobile service along with his entrepreneurial desires sparked the idea of the mobile valeting business at prices affordable to all.

Mark decided to take the chance and started out purchasing all of the equipment he needed to offer this exciting service.  Luckily it was getting warmer so the endless days and nights of leaflet delivering were not as bad as they would have been should it have been in the heart of winter.  The leaflet drop did the trick and one valet generally lead to another. MF Valeting started out life targeting the residential user and slowly but surely it built up a reasonable client base.

The first year came and went and MF Valeting was ticking over nicely.  The residential customers were loyal and business was fine.  This continued but Mark was constantly looking for something more to get his teeth into. As the winter in year three was fast approaching yet again MF Valeting touched lucky and managed to obtain a small airport parking contract.  Winter arrived the car parks were full but nobody seemed to be requesting valets.

Mark carried on through the winter with very little work coming from the car park same old icy buckets, frosted cars, cold hands and dark nights.  It suddenly came to him why not get into the airport parking game. Park the cars and valet them and reduced costs.  MF Airport Parking born.

MF AIRPORT PARKING

Mark wanted to break into the parking business but didn’t know the first thing about how it worked.  His skills lay in the internet and computers so he set about doing his research and come up with his business plan.   Rather than copy everybody else in the market at the time he decided to offer a slightly different service.  Mark offered Meet and Greet parking only rather than park and ride and meet and greet which seemed to be the norm.

Seeing as though there was only Mark, his father and then girlfriend and an excellent deal on spaces there were hardly any overheads so a pricing structure was produced that was highly competitive.   With only thirty five spaces this was easily manageable alongside MF Valeting.

MF Airport Parking continued as it was for approximately twelve months and the decision came to expand yet again.  Mark set about looking for sites close enough to Manchester Airport to continue to offer the Meet and Greet Service.  A suitable site was located and planning permission was applied for.

Slightly concerned about filling all of these new spaces week in and week out Mark started covering his bases by phoning all of the booking agents and getting quotes.

Happy with the knowledge that he could happily fill these new spaces all he was waiting on was the planning permission.  This never arrived.  Planning permission was declined.  Not happy with the decision Mark had to come up with something that would allow him to expand.

There was no set moment that can be recalled exactly when the booking agency was dreamt up but it was.  The idea behind the agency was simple, backed with Marks knowledge of the internet and computers it seemed the next logical step in the growth of the company.  MF Airport Parking (the booking agency was created.

MF Airport Parking

The valeting company was sold the parking business was closed and Mark invested everything into creating a website that allowed him to act as a booking agent for all of the UK car parking companies.  This may sound like a stupid idea but with no other expansion possibilities this was the only way Mark felt he could grow his business without limitations.

Mark is an extremely hard worker with ambitions about ambitions and he is determined in everything he does and intends to take MF Airport Parking to the top.  Both of his previous businesses have been successes although on a smaller scale and he has taken everything he has learnt from them into this venture.  Its main focus is excellent customer service and happy staff.  Mark intends to grow this section of his site with further reports on the success of MF Airport Parking so watch this space.

Mark handles all complaints personally and is always available for any suggestions that can help make his company better for everybody.  As mark prides himself on providing the best possible service he has included review areas on this site wherever possible for his customers to not only review the car parks and other services but also MF Airport Parking itself.

Should you wish to contact Mark his email address is mrmarkfarrell@mfairportparking.com a response is not guaranteed but all emails are personally viewed by Mark and any valuable advise will be taken on board and adopted by his company.

Cleaners working for Initial Air Services at Manchester Airport have called off strike action planned for today following a last minute pay offer by the company. Talks between Unite and Initial held on Monday concluded with a pay offer of 3.5%, which will be backdated to February.

Unite members at Initial have voted by 78% to accept the new pay deal. The 200 Unite members were due to start strike action from 06:00 am today until 06;00 on Sunday (July 20) following the company's decision to impose a 2% pay offer previously rejected by workers.

Unite Organiser, Sharon Cowell said: ‘Following the threat of strike action we have managed to secure a reasonable pay deal for our members. Strike action planned for today will no longer take place.'

‘Our members did not want to strike, but have been left with no option because of the pay offer being imposed by the company. We want to send a clear message to contractors at Manchester Airport. If they choose to impose a non-negotiated pay deal then we will retaliate.’
