Edinburgh Airport is the busiest in Scotland and 6th busiest in the UK. It consists of one terminal and is situated in Turnhouse in the City of Edinburgh 5.8 miles west of the city centre. Edinburgh airport serves over 100 destinations with over 40 airlines operating there.

Edinburgh airport originally opened in 1915 as Turnhouse Aerodrome. Turnhouse Aerodrome was used during World War One by the Royal Flying Corps. A new terminal a runway were built and opened in 1977 which is now Edinburgh Airport.
