FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do MF Airport Parking own the car parks?
A: Not exactly. MF Airport Parking act as an agent for many privately owned car parks spread across 24 of the UK Airports. We search all of the car parks across all of the airports and display the best value for money car parks. We do all the searching so you don’t have to.

Q: Why should I book in advance?
A: Booking in advance not only saves you up to 40%, but it allows you to travel safe in the knowledge that you have a parking space reserved for you, even when demand is high. Also, you will get a better price than if you wait till nearer the time, in a similar way to booking a holiday with a travel agent. The nearer to the time you book it, the more expensive it will be.

Q: How far in advance do I have to book?
A: You can book anytime, even for today if you wanted to. The booking process takes only a few minutes, and once you are given a booking reference number you can simply turn up.\r\n

Q: Why is a week 8 days and 2 weeks 15 days with MF Airport Parking?
A: Airport parking companies charge from midnight on a 24 hour basis. The charge made by the car park is per whole or part day, regardless of your time of arrival.

Q: What does on Airport and off Airport Parking mean?
A: On airport parking is parking that is provided on the airport site itself whereas off airport parking is parking that is provide off the airport site but still close to the airport

Q: Will my car be secure?
A: For the security measures our car parks have please refer to the individual car parks information. MF Airport Parking do ask each car park to provide a list of their security measures which usually include all or most of the following precautions:Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV)- Power floodlighting - High security, tamper proof fencing - 24 hour manned security patrols - Barrier/entrance controls - AA Police Gold Awards

Q: What insurance can I expect to receive?
A: MF Airport Parking do not own the car parks so cannot offer any insurance however each car park holds their own insurance and details can be requested direct from them. Most car parks usually offer an extra policy that will cover your vehicle whilst on their property and MF Airport Parking strongly recommends you take out this policy. Details of insurance policies can be obtained at the reception desks

Q: I only have to park for 3 days why can I only get a quote for 8?
A: It is possible to book for 3 days, but the minimum charge from the car parking company is for 8 days. See the minimum stay/charge details on the airport car park info page

Q: What is meet and greet parking?
A: With meet and greet parking you drive directly to the departure terminal you are flying from where you are greeted by a car park represenative. The representative will supply you with arrival details and take your vehicle from you. Upon your return your vehicle will be returned back to the airport at an agreed point. Meet and greet also can be called Chauffeur service and is by far growing in popularity with travellers due to the convenience of the whole process.

Q: What is park and ride parking?
A: Park and ride parking is the oldest form of parking whereby you drive to the car park leave your vehicle and hop on a transfer bus that will take you and collect you from the airport.

New figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) show that passenger numbers at regional airports grew in the first quarter of this year, but flight frequency decreased. Published in the CAA’s first edition of its new quarterly publication Aviation Trends, the figures show that passenger numbers at the regional UK hubs grew by 3% but flights to and from regional airports dipped, also by 3%.

At the London airports, passenger numbers increased by 2% while flights in and out of the airports went up by 1%. Both figures indicate either that aircraft with higher seat capacity were flown on routes or that load factors had increased.

For the first three months of this year passengers in the UK airports overall increased by 2%, with scheduled flights seeing a 3% boost in numbers and chartered flights dropping by 1%. For more information go to http://www.caa.co.uk/aviationtrends.
