Glasgow Airport was the second busiest airport in Scotland, after Edinburgh, and the 8th busiest in the UK in 2010. Glasgow Airport is located 8 miles southwest of Glasgow city centre. Around 30 airlines operate from Glasgow Airport, serving approximately 90 destinations.

Important information

Check-in times vary for different flights and airlines. Glasgow airport recommends checking in 3 hours prior to boarding for long haul flights, 2 hours in advance for European flights and 1 hour in advance for flights within the UK and Ireland.

Those requiring special assistance during their time in the airport should inform their airline and the THS (special assistance providers for Glasgow Airport) at least 48 hours before flying.

There are unisex disabled toilets nearby most toilet blocks in the terminal. There are also two reserved seating areas specifically for those who are less mobile.

Glasgow Airport was officially opened on 27th June 1966 by Her Majesty the Queen. Glasgow Airport had approximately 6.55million passengers pass through in 2010 which is a 9.4% decrease on passenger number in 2009.
